GROWERS

Story

GROWERS are a four-piece rock band from Toronto, Canada, known for their upbeat original material and high energy live shows. Over three years, GROWERS have continuously built their growing list of accolades.

Upon formation, the band won a battle of the bands competition hosted at Supermarket Bar in Toronto, and were awarded two days of recording time at Hapy Hipi Studios. When the global pandemic hit in 2020, GROWERS continued to make the most of their time–winning a $2,000 grant from Corus Entertainment for their music video, ‘The 90’s’, and releasing their debut EP, ‘Rock Hard’ in the summer of 2021.

In 2022, GROWERS made their NXNE debut at the Baby G (June), and played a string of dates at various venues in Toronto, including a sold out show at the El Mocambo (May). In August, the band released their first live single, ‘Insomniac – Live at the El Mocambo’, accompanied by a live music video. That fall, GROWERS released another single and music video for their song ‘TTYL’ (Sept16), and embarked on their ‘Micro-Tour’ of Ontario and Quebec — with dates in Ottawa, Montreal, Hamilton, London, Kingston, and Toronto.

Over the years, GROWERS have worked with acclaimed engineers like Brad Nelson (known for his work with Billy Talent, the Headstones, and Alanis Morrisette), and Vic Florencia (Danko Jones, The Headstones), as well as former chief mastering engineer at Sony Music Canada, Peter Letros.

GROWERS are set to release their next single on April 21st, entitled ‘17 Cigarettes’, and will be hosting a single release show at The Garrison on April 22nd, 2023. In support of their upcoming “CRYBABY” EP, GROWERS will be heading back on tour throughout the summer of 2023, consisting of dates in Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City, Ottawa, Kingston, Hamilton, and Guelph. GROWERS will also be performing at NXNE and CMW 2023.
