Based in Laval, Francis Blvd. is the solo project of Francis Gabriel-Alexandre. The project embodies Francis’s major influences which range from singers like Frank Ocean, The Weeknd to producers like Galimatias and Lophiile. In this setup, Francis delivers a fusion of r&b, hip hop and an occasional touch of jazz elements led by soulful tenor vocals.
While he grew up listening to mostly hip-hop, r&b, and rock, his interest in jazz evolved through his music studies in college and university where he earned a College Diploma at the CEGEP of Marie-Victorin and a bachelor’s degree at the Université de Montréal respectively.
In the last 10 years, Francis has had the opportunity to polish his composition, songwriting, production and piano skills through school and the teachings of the musicians he’s connected with. After years of playing in several bands/collectives and in multiple shows, Francis started performing mainly as a solo artist in 2019 releasing a few singles and working on his debut EP that is set to release in February of this year.
