Formed during the Covid lockdowns, Savelene is the product of Rich Sookrah(vocals) and Dallas Toni(guitars), two like-minded individuals from opposite sides of Ontario’s capital city of Toronto. A chance meeting while combing through ‘musician wanted’ ads has culminated in multiple EPs with a new full length album on the way!
Rounding out the band are James Gruythuyzen on bass, Nathan Halcovith on guitars and Kris Stasiuk on drums for live performances. Each bring their own sensibilities and outstanding live playing and have ventured into the songwriting aspect as well!
Exploding onto the live scene in 2023, Savelene’s first ever live performance was at 97.7 HTZFM’s 2023 Rock Search in St Catherine’s Ontario. Savelene blends loud guitars, groovy drums, and pop hooks to create a sonic template reminiscent of deftones, glassjaw, and Alexisonfire. Keep an eye out for when they come to your city!
