Charlie PS

Story

Vancouver-based Charlie PS has a sound that can be described as a sonic melting pot. Inspired by a wide variety of rock and blues from legends of the 20th century such as Stevie Nicks and Ann Wilson, to modern rock artists that include Grace Potter and ZZ Ward, Charlie borrows elements of strong vocals and energetic riffs and uses them to create her own blended sound rooted in modern-rock.

Charlie’s newest single “Mouthpiece” is set to be released on February 7th, the hard hitting modern rock song featuring a ‘play on words’ style lyricism and leads with a nod of defiant satire towards the exceedingly opinionated and vocally over indulgent crowds of today’s digital age. ‘“Mouthpiece” is an homage to everyone who has ever given unsolicited advice or yelled out their opinion in a room full of people who just don’t want to hear it” says Charlie, “The world feels like a noisy place these days and in 2025 I’m setting boundaries with those who just can’t keep their thoughts to themselves.”

Her EP “Even If It Kills Me” (October, 2023) features 5 modern rock songs, all tied together by the EP’s title track and whilst creating the 5 song EP, the artist dug deep into her psyche to bring together a project with plenty of personal meaning. “Each song is a bit of a snippet from certain periods of my life over the past three years’” she said. The EP’s singles “Revival”, “Raw”, “Down to the Devil” and “Even If It Kills Me” were released throughout 2023 and were featured on BBC Radio and Exclaim Magazine’s “The Eh! List”.

Charlie PS burst onto the scene in 2018 with her debut EP, “Little Miss Dysfunctional,” which included a track that went on to be nominated and win Best Pop Song, be nominated for Best Music Video, and earned the artist herself a nomination for Artist of the Year at the 2019 Kootenay Music Awards. She also finished in the top-100 in CBC’s Searchlight competition in 2019 and won a spot at the local Surrey Fusion Festival in the same year. In 2021, Charlie PS introduced the world to her single, “Ghost of You,” which combines flavors of alternative and southern rock, creating a backdrop for western-esque storytelling. It was featured on the Spotify Editorial Playlist “Morning Blues,” BBC Radio, and CBC’s “Rock Canada” Playlist.
