Oh Geronimo crafts anthemic songs for the sentimental soul. ‘Music that hits the right note of gentle reflection without coming across as overly melodramatic or sombre…represented with a clarity and honesty that many bands aspire to but fail to actually realize.’ (Sonic Abuse) Oh Geronimo’s latest record, The Sled, traverses the peaks and valleys of companionship, ego, self-perception and explores what happens when they collide. The band is a recent recipient of the National Music Centre’s Master In Residence program, where they were able to further hone their songwriting craft under the tutelage of Canadian music legend, Steven Page.
Ciarán performed the band’s latest release, ‘For The Dogs’ live for the first time as part of a songwriter’s circle with Page. “This song is directly inspired by our love for dogs, and the experiences we’ve shared with our own pets. Unfortunately, nature runs its course and we end up outliving our companions (most of the time), which is one of the hardest trials one can face. We hope this song sums up all of these feelings, and makes you cherish your pets even more.”
The band has partnered up with dog-rescue charity Save Our Scruff for the release of this video and song. All proceeds generated by this song will go to support Save Our Scruff. The video features several rescue dogs that have been adopted through the charity.
