LYRAS are an alt-R&B band from Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. Taking influences from artists such as Hiatus Kaiyote, Corrine Bailey Rae and Moonchild, LYRAS blend dreamy vocal harmonies and a sophisticated sonic backdrop to create a sound grounded in soul, jazz and contemporary R&B. A low-key debut release at the height of a pandemic might have reasonably been expected to go unnoticed by both the industry and the wider pandemic, but thanks to a track laced with both humour and heartache, and propelled by a jazz groove, their debut organically attracted fans at BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio, The Unsigned Guide, and multiple Hype Machine-listed blogs, bringing with it immediate industry attention both at home and abroad.
